Variable Speed Drive Panels (Variable Torque)
A variable speed drive (VSD) is required for applications needing programmable motor running speed. VSD panels are complete motor control packages used in applications requiring a disconnecting means, starting circuitry, VSD and motor overload protection. These VSD panels are medium duty (Variable Torque) configurations.
In the standard configuration, these drive panels are intended for use indoors. If your application requires a main disconnect, please see our disconnect page or consider the bypass option. Please call us with your special environmental considerations. We can configure a VSD panel to fit almost any environmental conditions.
New Utility Transformers allow higher available Fault Currents. When advised, we can provide controls with proper interrupting ratings. Short Circuits may cause welding, which is not considered a failure of the Contactor. (see UL508, Para 53)

- Adjustable Thermal Overload Protection (integral to drive).

- NEMA 3R enclosure;
- Main circuit breaker with lockable handle;
- 2 Magnetic contactors;
- Adjustable overload protection;
- Reset pushbutton;
- Hand-Off-Auto selector switch;
- Bypass mode selector switch;
- Terminal block for remote device.

ATTENTION: Because of the low margins on our VSD-only option, we cannot provide free engineering services with this product. The customer is responsible for proper sizing, installation and startup.
